The short version

Who is responsible

Graeme Chard trading as RightByYours, a sole trader based in Ireland, is the controller of your information. Email [email to be confirmed], or write to [address to be confirmed].

Our representative in the UK is [UK representative to be confirmed].

What we hold

About you (the person using RightByYours): your email address, your order and payment record, and what you tell us about your relationship to the person you’re helping. Stripe handles your card; we never see it.

About the person you’re helping: your answers about how they manage day to day, which include details of their health and care needs; who will sign the claim; and a record of their agreement or of your authority to act for them. We refer to them as “your mum”, “your dad” or what you call them, never by name.

Voice: if you speak your answers, your browser turns them into text. We keep the words, never a recording.

What we never ask for: names, addresses, dates of birth, National Insurance numbers, or doctor and hospital details. Please leave them out of your answers too.

Why we can use it

Who sees it

During our early trial, a person at RightByYours reads your answers to prepare your drafts. We don’t send your answers to an AI service.

When you send your answers, your browser locks them with a key that only you and RightByYours hold. Our hosting company stores only the locked copy, which it can’t read. Your private link carries your key, so keep it safe. We don’t keep your email address with your answers: Stripe holds it, and we look it up there when we need to write to you.

We use a small number of companies to run the service, under contracts that only let them act on our instructions: Netlify (website hosting), Stripe (payments) and our email provider. Some are based in the United States, and the transfer is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, its UK extension, or standard contractual clauses.

We never share your information with DWP, DfC or anyone else, unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your answers and drafts: deleted 30 days after we deliver your answers, unless you ask us to keep them so we can help with a reconsideration (then for up to 15 months, and we remind you before we delete them). You can ask us to delete them at any time.

Order and payment records: 6 years, because tax law requires it. They contain nothing about the person you’re helping.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, ask us to stop using it, or take a copy. Where we rely on agreement, it can be withdrawn at any time. Email [email to be confirmed]; we reply within a month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK, or the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) in Ireland.

Cookies and tracking

We store your progress and your text-size setting on your own device so you can carry on where you left off. We don’t use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or session recording.

For parents: if your family is helping with your claim

Your son, daughter or someone close to you is using RightByYours to help prepare your Attendance Allowance claim. Here’s what that means for you.

Prototype. No payment is taken. If you send your answers, Graeme reads them to test the service, so please don’t use real details.
